What do we
do?
Our Cheshire business office
houses our centralized billing department, our bookkeeper and
our practice administrator. If you get a bill it has our
number on it. If you have a question regarding insurance coverage
talk to us.
Although you see billing
staff in each office at the front desk, our business office staff
- Paula, Tracy, Patti, Candace and Verna are dedicated to help
you. We transmit our claims electronically on a daily basis. If
your claim gets rejected, our staff works to find out why and
makes sure it gets paid. Many times we call the insurance company
on your behalf, without you even knowing it. If you have an insurance
plan in which our providers do not participate, we will still
send your claim to your insurance company for you.
What do we need
from you ?
Your current insurance
card, your copay at every visit, and notify us if there are any
changes. We need to have your current address, telephone number,
work telephone number, and any change of marital status.
Pregnancy and
infertility
If you are pregnant, we
will call your insurance company, verify your benefits and pre-certify
your hospitalization. For patients who are in an insurance plan
we do not participate in, we will work out payment arrangements.
Infertility coverage and
limits for infertility vary not only by insurance company, but
also from policy to policy. It is important to know what your
policy covers and when your insurance company needs to be called.
Some insurance policies require preauthorization for any office
visit which is billed with an infertility diagnosis, and some
policies don't require preauthorization unless you need surgery.
Some policies have no infertility coverage, and many policies
have limits for infertility drugs and procedures. We will call
and obtain preauthorization, but you need to let us know what
your policy requires.

Changing insurance policies?
If you have any questions when or before your insurance changes,
call us and we'll try to help you sort it out. We have a lot of
experience, so we're happy to help if we can. Once your plan changes,
make sure you give that information to the office where you are
seen. The business office will get the information from that office.
If you think there is a
mistake, call us. If you get a bill, and think you should not
have, call us. If you have commercial insurance and are having
a problem, call us. If we have made a mistake, or don't have your
correct information, the sooner you call us the better. Many insurance
companies have filing limits, so the sooner we act on something,
the better!

your encounter form or bill is 203-562-2945. Even though we are
located in Cheshire, this number is not a toll call from any town
in which we have an office . Monday through Friday, our phones
are answered from 8:00 am. to 4:30 p.m. If you call and nobody
is in the office, please leave a message in our voice mail. Someone
from the business office staff will return your call.
Over the past decade, health
insurance and managed care plans have changed tremendously what
happens behind the scenes in medical offices . We are dedicated
to professionalism, providing our patients the best health care
possible, and compliance with federal rules and insurance company
policies. Some of our staff have worked for us more than fifteen
years. Through our experience and continued education, our staff
works hard to meet insurance companies requirements and anticipate
new trends in health care. They will compare and question insurance
company policies. Within our own office, we have Patti DiSpazio,
C.P.C., who was accredited by the American Academy of Procedural
Coders in 2001 .
