Betsy Hyde CNM, MSN
I was born and raised in Connecticut, and spent about 10 years living in the Boston area. I graduated from Tufts University with a degree in biology, and graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a degree in nursing. At Boston University I was elected to Sigma Theta Tau, the National Nursing Honor Society. Prior to entering midwifery, I did research in blood coagulation and reproductive endocrinology.
I became interested in midwifery and women’s health after my first child was born. I received my Master's degree and midwifery education from Yale University, where I am an Assistant Clinical Professor. I am an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. I’m not only interested in the physical changes of pregnancy, but all the psychological and social changes that make pregnancy such an important experience in a woman’s life. I’m also interested in providing skilled and sensitive gyn care that respects women and the choices that they make.
I have two children, Gabe and Kate, and one granddaughter, Blake. I live with my golden retrievers Lizzie and Phoebe. In my spare time I train and compete in agility with my dogs, love to garden, and am the practice webmaster.
