We work as a collaborative practice of obstetrician-gynecologists (OB-GYNs) and certified nurse-midwives (CNMs). We are members of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists or the American College of Nurse-Midwives. For more information on midwifery, please see Who and What are Midwives? For more information on the ob-gyns, please see What is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist?

We would encourage you to establish a primary relationship with one of the physicians or with one of the midwives. In this way, we will get to know you and your health care needs. In addition, we will become more familiar to you, as well. Of course, we realize that this is not always possible, and you may make appointments with any of us. After office hours, a physician and midwife are always available through our answering service for emergency questions and gynecologic problems.

For our obstetrical patients, a physician and midwife are always on call for emergency questions, problems and to attend your labor and birth. In general, the midwife on call will meet you at the hospital when you are admitted in labor, and will provide care during labor and birth. The physician is present if there are problems during labor, and both midwife and physician are routinely present at the time of the birth. In most cases, it is the midwife who is the primary birth attendant, with the physician assisting. Please speak with any one of us if you have questions regarding your care during pregnancy, labor and birth. Our goal is for you to have a satisfying birth experience.
